The Southwest Monsoon has not been giving good Monsoon showers across Uttar Pradesh in the last few days. However, since the last 24 hours, on and off Monsoon showers have been occurring over the state.
In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Allahabad 12.6 mm, Gorakhpur 12 mm, Kanpur 9 mm, Fursatganj 7 mm, Lucknow 6.7 mm, Moradabad 5.6 mm, Hardoi 4.4 mm, Banda 4.2 mm, Aligarh 3 mm, Bareilly 1.2 mm and Varanasi 0.2 mm.
These weather conditions can be attributed to a well marked low pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining areas of Jharkhand. Due to this prevailing weather system, moderate to heavy rains are expected to occur over Southeast Uttar Pradesh in cities like Kanpur, Varanasi and Allahabad during the next 24 to 36 hours.
