Weather gods don’t seem be in a mood to leave Jammu and Kashmir anytime soon. Even as we step into mid-April, Jammu and Kashmir saw yet another spell of widespread rain and snowfall in last 24 hours, which is expected to continue till tomorrow. Meanwhile, a weather system (cyclonic circulation) in Rajasthan is approaching Delhi and could give isolated thunder and rain tonight.

Pahalgam 26 mm
Banihal 12 mm
Batote 6 mm
Gulmarg 9 mm
Jammu 7 mm

“The Western Disturbance is moving eastwards; snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir will continue till Monday but may become light. Himachal Pradesh however, could see scattered rain at few places”, says Mr Lal of Skymet’s Meteorology Division.

“According to thelatest weather update by Skymet’s Meteorology Division in India, capital city Delhi is also expected to receive light rain in isolated pockets tonight/tomorrow morning as a cyclonic circulation has formed at Rajasthan. This system may also give rain in parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh”, added Mr Lal.

Clouding has already reached parts of Delhi and the sun is seen playing hide and seek since morning. Strong winds of up to 40 kmph are further adding to the comfort in the city. This will help in pulling down maximum temperature in Delhi by 2 to 3 degrees. It will settle around 35⁰C on Sunday.
