Good rains have been lashing Jharkhand and West Bengal and this saga seems to stay stagnant for another few days.
During last 24 hours, most parts of Jharkhand along with Gangetic West Bengal have recorded good rains. These rains are attributed to a deep depression over Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal.
This system is now expected to shift northwestwards across Jharkhand. As the system is expected to weaken gradually, it is likely to offer moderate to heavy showers over most of the eastern parts of Jharkhand, adjacent to West Bengal.
In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Wednesday, rainfall recorded over most parts of Jharkhand and West Bengal is displayed in the given table:
These rains are expected to linger over Jharkhand for another 48 hours which will most probably reduce rainfall deficiency of the state which currently stands at 19%. On the contrary, rain intensity over West Bengal is likely to reduce but will continue to affect the weather for next 24 hours.
