Uttar Pradesh rains

During the last 24 hours, extreme northern parts of Uttar Pradesh like Bareilly and Pilibhit managed to receive very light rains at one or two places. During the morning hours, moderate to dense fog was also being witnessed over most parts of the state. The days were pleasant and hazy while nights were cold.

According to meteorologists, similar weather will be prevailing during the next 24 to 36 hours over Uttar Pradesh. Though, the fog layer will now weaken slightly due to the increase in surface wind speed. The Sun might shine partially over a few places.

Presently, a Western Disturbance as an upper air system is moving across northern parts of Jammu and Kashmir. While an upper air Trough is extending from East Central Arabian Sea to eastern parts of Rajasthan in the lower levels. This system would be persisting and shifting over to West Madhya Pradesh and adjoining parts of South Uttar Pradesh after 24 hours.

Due to this system, light spells of rain and thundershowers are likely to affect some places over southern parts of Uttar Pradesh on December 24. Places like Jhansi, Allahabad, Kanpur, Chitrakoot, Banda, Agra, Pratapgarh, Raebareli, Nowgong etc will be affected by these rains.

The night temperatures are expected to increase slightly after 24 hours, while a significant fall in day temperatures is expected over southern parts of Uttar Pradesh. Other parts of Uttar Pradesh are likely to remain dry and cold during night hours while day will be mainly cool.

All these rains in southern Uttar Pradesh will turn out very useful for crops like wheat, mustard, gram, sugarcane, peas etc.
