Janmashtami 2017: Vrindavan, Mathura to remain warm and dry

India is usually called the land of festivals and carnivals, and it is truly spot-on! There is barely any month in the year which has no major festival lined up. This month kick started with the likes of Naag Panchami, followed by Rakshabandhan, and now Indians are gearing up for one of the most extensively celebrated festivals across the country-Janmashtami.

This year Janmashtami is being celebrated on August 14. Janmashtami symbols the birth of Lord Krishna. It is alleged that Lord Krishna was born at midnight on the 8th day or the “Ashtami” of the holy month.

Lord Krishna is the 8th avatar of Vishnu and was born this day according to the Hindu mythology and devotees all over the world celebrate Janmashtami with great enthusiasm. Lord Krishna also seems to have a peculiar connection with rains. It utmost undeniably rains on Janmashtami, a strange pattern that repeats every year!

According to Skymet Weathermen, the sky is expected to be mostly cloudy through the day and one or two spells of light rain and thundershowers also cannot be ruled out over Vrindavan and Mathura. However, these rains will be highly localized and will be patchy in nature. Well, there's certainly no scientific reason behind why it rains on Janmashtami but mythology is all about theories. Isn't it?

A short spell of light rain and thundershowers may be marked to the beginning of the Janmashtami celebrations in Mathura and Vrindavan, today. Hereby, raising some hopes of a pleasant and comfortable day forward.
