Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Jagdalpur, Bilaspur to see light to moderate rains

During the last 24 hours, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh have been receiving a good amount of rainfall activities. In spite of good Monsoon rains, these two states are running deficient in terms of sub divisional rainfall statistics.

Thus, several districts such as Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bilaspur, Daltonganj, Bokaro, Raipur and Chaibasa have recorded light to moderate Monsoon rain and thundershowers. Due to this, the residents of these two states have been experiencing comfortable weather conditions.

In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Durg 54 mm, Ambikapur 38 mm, Jagdalpur 36.2 mm, Ranchi 23 mm, Jamsehdpur 13 mm, Raipur 9 mm, Chaibasa 8.4 mm, Rajnandgaon 8.2 mm, Daltonganj 6 mm, Bilaspur 5.4 mm, Bokaro 3.4 mm and Pendra 2.6 mm.

These weather conditions can be attributed to a low pressure area which was seen over South Odisha and adjoining areas of Chhattisgarh. Now, the rains over Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand are likely to reduce significantly during the next 24 hours.

Thus, several districts such as Jagdalpur, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bilaspur and Daltonganj will continue to settle with light to moderate Monsoon rains for the next few days.

Thereafter, a cyclonic circulation is likely to develop over Odisha and adjoining areas by August 31. With this, a fresh spell of a weather system, light to moderate Monsoon rains are once again expected to commence over these two states.

Also, during the same period of time, a few spells of heavy Monsoon rains may lash these states. As on August 27, the sub divisional rainfall statistics shows that Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand are rain deficient regions by 11% and 3%, respectively.
