Kashmir WeatherPeople looking forward to celebrating New Year's in hills of North India amidst fresh snowfall are likely to be disappointed because of no snow show this year. Weather in Srinagar and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir is expected to remain dry and cold, sans any fresh snowflakes.

Every year, tourists rush to the hills of North India to enjoy a white and snowy New Year. Most places in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and a few areas in Uttarakhand observe snowfall during New Year giving tourists a good chance to witness a snow clad year end. However, this year too may be like last year, especially in Srinagar, when snow was missing from Srinagar.

Mercury too has been dipping at a slow pace in Srinagar which is witnessing minimum temperature at -3.3°C, highest in last ten years. Gulmarg too is witnessing minimum temperature settle between minus 7-8°C when it normally observes temperature dropping to minus 10-11°C during this time of the year.

According to meteorologists at Skymet Weather, due to the absence of any strong Western Disturbance, Srinagar will not see any snowfall this year.
