Good rains have been occurring over the hills of North India for the past few days. These weather conditions can be attributed to back to back Western Disturbances in quick succession approaching the hills of North India. During the last 24 to 48 hours also, scattered rains have occurred over some parts.
Now, the intensity of rain is expected to increase in this region.
Live lightening and thunderstorm status across Northern Hills of India
The last 24 hours were no different and rains of varying intensity soaked several parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and parts of Uttarakhand. In fact, places like Tehri, Qazi Gund, Mandi, Srinagar, Manali and Shimla have already witnessed a spell of rain.
Within a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Tehri witnessed 21.0 mm of rain, Mandi 12.0 mm, Manali 10.0 mm, Qazi Gund 6.0 mm and Srinagar 3.0 mm.
Further also, weather conditions continue to be favorable for rains and thundershowers to continue for the next 36-48 hours.
According to Skymet Weather, light to moderate rainfall along with squally winds may continue to occur at many places over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during the next two to three days.
With this system, the sky is expected to become partly cloudy and gradually the cloud cover will increase over many parts of northern hills.
