Hilly states of North India have been witnessing rain and snow of varying intensity for the last many days. All thanks to back to back Western Disturbances affecting the Western Himalayas.
However, now all the three states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are gearing up for sunny and pleasant weather conditions.
According to Skymet Weather, the Western Disturbance that was seen as an upper air cyclonic circulation has cleared away the region.
During the last 24 hours, the system had given isolated light rain and thundershowers over the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir. But now, the intensity of rains has reduced significantly.
As we proceed further, mainly dry weather conditions will prevail over the region. Sky will clear up, paving way for some bright sunshine. With this, maximum temperatures that have been settling on the lower side will also increase. Meanwhile, minimum temperatures will take a dip.
Weathermen predict that weather will continue to be dry till February 26, thereafter which another Western Disturbance will start affecting Jammu and Kashmir. The system will bring another spell of rain over the northern hilly states.
As we approach March, frequency over these Western Disturbances reduces substantially. Moreover, they are not active in nature and move through higher latitude only. Thus, in the coming day, impact of these systems will also reduce over the entire Northwest India.
