The meteorological division of Vidarbha has received moderate to heavy rains during the last 24 hours. The divisions of Marathwada and North Konkan and Goa have received scattered light to moderate rains. Meanwhile, Mumbai rains have remained light only.
According to the rainfall data available with Skymet, Chandrapur has received 48 mm of rainfall, followed by Bramhapuri 43 mm, Wardha 15 mm, Parbhani 12 mm, Dahanu 112 mm, Alibag 8 mm, Solapur 6 mm, Colaba, Santa Cruz (Mumbai) and Matheran 4 mm each in a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday.
Currently, the Depression over Gujarat is moving in Northeast direction, because of which moderate spells of rain may appear in parts of Vidarbha during the next 24 hours. During the same time frame, Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra may observe isolated rains.
Places like Gondia, Chandrapur, Parbhani, Nanded, Mahabaleshwar, Jalgaon, and Nashik would get to see rain and thundershower activities for another 24 hours. Thereafter, rains will subside and no significant rainfall activity is likely for the next four to five days then over the state.
Talking about the city of dreams, Mumbai rains are expected to remain mainly light only today, however, one or two moderate spells cannot be ruled out. By tomorrow, there will be a significant reduction in Mumbai rains and thereafter the weather would go almost dry. Likewise, the city of Pune would receive isolated light rains only.
