The city of Jaisalmer remains arid and does not receive a lot of rain in general. In fact, the monthly normal rain in May stands at 11.5 mm. This month has been supremely unusual for the city of Jaisalmer where it recorded 77 mm of rains in the last 24 hours which is a record on its own.
In fact, the city has recorded 110 mm of rain this month which is unprecedented in nature. The location is known for extreme high temperatures and heat wave which has not been very prominent in nature this season. The temperature this month touched 46 degrees on May 13. However, extreme temperatures are usual here and the city has even recorded 49 degrees in May 20, 2016.
The first half of the month was fairly alright with maximums at 46 degrees just once. Now, weather activity is expected today as well. This is one pocket which has seen hailstorm activity as well which may also continue today. Tomorrow, conditions may ease out but only light conditions may be seen.
The persistent spell has resulted in comfortable weather with maximum being recorded 9 degrees below normal at 34 degrees. Minimums are also at 18 degrees which is 9 degrees below normal.
