Jaipur receives heavy rain, Monsoon arrivesJaipur remained hot and dry during the month of June. The city remained almost dry with almost no rains being observed during the entire month. So much so that the city recorded a mere 11 mm of rain against its monthly average of 63.4 mm.

Also, during most of June, maximum temperatures remained close to the 40 degree mark. In fact, during the first ten days, the maximum even soared to 45.8 degrees. So much so that the minimums also hovered close to the 35-degree mark.

The last day of June was excruciatingly hot and the maximum temperature reached to 42 degrees. July began on a wet note as the city recorded 4 mm rain on the first day of the month. While the residents thought it was enough, rain gods wanted to give much more.

Jaipur recorded a whopping 63.8 mm of rain on the second day of July. Due to these rains, the maximum temperature has also dropped to about 9 degrees and currently is at 33.9 degrees. Now, Southwest Monsoon has also made an onset over the pink city and more rains are likely in the coming days.
