Several districts in Rajasthan including Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Alwar hit by Swine Flu

Swine Flu has gripped several districts in Rajasthan. The death toll has risen to 153 in the state so far.

On March 6 alone, 26 people tested positive out of 208.

According to officials, 4467 people were tested positive for Swine Flu out of which 153 people died due to the virus in the last two months. The highest number of deaths were recorded from Jodhpur wherein 32 people succumbed to this disease.

It doesn’t end here. Many have died in different regions of Rajasthan. Ten deaths were recorded both in Udaipur and Churu. Whereas, Barmer recorded 14, Kota recorded 11. Eight deaths have been recorded both in Jaipur and Nagaur. Jaisalmer recorded a number of five deaths. Rajsamand, Chiitorgarh, Sikar, Sri Ganganagar and Bhilwara witnessed four deaths. Jhunjhunu, Alwar and Pali recorded a number of three deaths. Pratapgarh, Dungarpur, Bundi, Hanumangarh, Tonk and Ajmer witnessed two deaths. Lastly, one death each was reported from Bharatpur, Karauli, Dausa, Jalore and Banswara.

Swine Flu also known as H1N1 is an air-borne disease which spreads from person to person via large droplets generated through coughing and sneezing and close contact.

The symptoms are fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, difficulty in breathing. Other symptoms may include body ache, headache, fatigue, chills, diarrhea and vomiting and blood-stained sputum.

People should avoid crowded places during swine flu season and stay at a distance from people down with flu.
