During the last 24 hours, one or two northern parts of Rajasthan have experienced short spell of very light rains. Churu, for instance, received trace amount of rains. Rest most parts remained dry. A few northern parts of Rajasthan experienced a dense layer of fog which has scattered as of today.
Presently, an upper air Cyclonic Circulation has developed over eastern parts of Gujarat. Also, an upper air Trough is extending across this system to eastern parts of Rajasthan. Due to this system, moist winds are expected to blow over eastern parts of Rajasthan, during the next 24 hours. Due to this, one or two places may experience light rains.
On December 23 and 24, the intensity of rain will increase slightly and spread over to entire eastern parts of Rajasthan while western parts will remain mostly dry. Places like Kota, Bundi, Bhilwara, Ajmer, Jaipur, Dausa, Dholpur, Alwar, Udaipur, Banswara etc. may experience these rains.
Though the amount of precipitation will be mostly light, but isolated places may receive moderate rains as well due to the incursion of moist winds from the Arabian Sea.
Meanwhile, the night temperatures are likely to increase mainly over eastern parts of Rajasthan. On the other hand, clouding and occurrence of rainfall will pull down the day temperatures. All these rains are very useful for crops like wheat, gram, peas, mustard, etc. However, the northern parts like Hanumangarh, Sri Ganganagar, Pilani, etc may remain in grip of moderate to dense fog during the early morning hours.
