Jaipur, Ajmer, Bikaner, Churu to witness good Monsoon rains

Rajasthan has been receiving good rains since many days. These rains have caused flooding in many parts of the state. As per Skymet Weather, the axis of Monsoon trough has shifted in North and at present, it is running Northwest Rajasthan to Bay of Bengal across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Therefore rains will reduce over southern parts of Rajasthan and almost dry weather will prevail from tomorrow. However light to moderate intensity rains may occur over the northern districts of Rajasthan. Places like Barmer, Jalore, Pali, Sirohi will receive good rains.

In the past 24 hours from 8.30 am on Monday, Churu witnessed heavy rain of 56 mm and Sikar 48 mm. Sawai Madhopur, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Ajmer, Bhilwara also recorded light rains. The flood situations have worsened due to the release of water from Jawai Dam.

The weather over Southern Rajasthan is likely to remain almost dry for at least 10 days of August. Hence, temperatures are also likely to increase over the region.  Central and East Rajasthan including Jaipur, Ajmer, Churu, Alwar, Jhunjhunu, Sikar is likely to receive good showers during the next 24 to 48 hours. Thereafter the intensity of rain will reduce over these areas also as the axis of Monsoon trough will shift from the foothills of Himalayas.
