Temperatures in Delhi have been on a rising spree during the latter half of March. Delhiites have been seen getting little uncomfortable with the weather, especially during the noon hours when sun shines the brightest.

On March 22, the maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 31.7°C, while minimum had settled at 19°C. Similarly on March 21, the day temperature was observed at 31.7°C, while the night temperature recorded 18.2°C.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, it is nothing unusual about the weather in Delhi as maximum temperatures are expected to reach 34°C and beyond by the end of March. However, minimum temperatures have registered significant rise and are settling three to four degrees above the normal of 15°C.

According to the latest forecast, there will be no respite from the heat as both day and night temperatures will continue to rise and we might even see temperatures crossing 34°C and 20°C, respectively, during the next 24-48 hours.

Let us have a look at the maximum and minimum temperatures across Delhi-NCR.

Though Delhi is now inching towards its normal weather, March has been different for the national capital.

Three successive Western Disturbances and cyclonic circulations had given good rain in the city and kept the temperatures well below normal. With 86.3 mm of rain recorded already in this month so far, the city has surpassed the all-time high of 78.2 mm, recorded in the year 1915.
