There is a good news for all those Delhiites who were planning to spend the upcoming long weekend in Delhi itself. Pleasant weather along with rain is expected to cover the national capital for next couple of days.
According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, a Western Disturbance, which is already affecting North India along with an induced cyclonic circulation over Pakistan and adjoining North Rajasthan will be giving light to moderate rain over the city.
The rainy spell is expected to last for at least next 48 hours, making both days and nights pleasant. Maximum temperatures that have been settling in mid 30s, will now register a drop and settle in high 20s. However, there will be marginal change in minimum temperatures, as they will witness a dip by only one or two degrees, settling around 20°C.
Both the temperatures are below the respective normal temperatures. The average day temperature for April is 36°C and normal night temperature is 21°C.
Nearby areas of Punjab and Haryana have already witnessed rain in the wake of the weather systems. While, the hilly areas are witnessing heavy rain since last 24 hours.
Last month, the city recorded whopping 97.3 mm of rainfall, surpassing the average rainfall of 13.5 mm by a big margin. Delhi also set an all-time record. In 1915, Safdarjung had recorded 78.2 mm of rain.
