Several other districts of Telangana also recorded rainfall in a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday, Hanamkonda recorded rain of light intensity to the tune of 2 mm, Nizamabad 2 mm and Ramagundam 1 mm.

These showers can be attributed to the low pressure area that was over Vidarbha and adjoining areas. Now as this weather system has moved away westwards, as a result dry weather will prevail over the City of Nizams, however isolated light rains cannot be ruled out till the weekend.

Weathermen at Skymet Weather foresee that by next week around August 27 or 28; rains will again pace up over the city and moderate showers may show up. These rains can be attributed to a weather system that is likely to develop over Coastal Odisha and adjoining North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. This system will move in westerly direction thus pouring good rains over Telangana.

As on August 20, the rainfall sub divisional distribution statistics shows that Telangana is rain deficient by 10%. Till date, Hyderabad has recorded 72.5 mm of rainfall as against its monthly mean of 207 mm.
