Weather in Delhi and its nearby regions is constantly dry since September 25 and no significant rain activity has been recorded in the past many days. However, if we look at the temperature figures, then both day and night temperatures are showing constant normal readings.
After September 25, an anti-cyclone had developed over Rajasthan. Due to the formation of this weather system, dry westerly and north-westerly winds commenced over Delhi- NCR leading to the persisting dry and warm weather conditions.
Now, a Western Disturbance is present over Jammu & Kashmir which has induced a cyclonic circulation over North Rajasthan. A trough is also extending from this circulation to Delhi.
In view of these weather systems, we expect sky conditions of Delhi to become cloudy or partly cloudy in the daytime. Light rains are also expected over one or two places in Delhi and NCR tomorrow i.e. October 11.
This might bring relief from the prevailing hot and dry weather over the city. But don’t be very hopeful, as these rains will be light and highly localized therefore weathermen at Skymet, do not predict much relief from the ongoing warm and dry weather conditions.
Moreover, minimum temperatures are likely to rise marginally due to cloud cover and Green-house effect. Furthermore, the weather will once again clear up by October 12.
