In the past 24 hours, many parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh have witnessed light to moderate rains and thundershowers with one or two heavy spells. The pre-Monsoon season ended on a deficient note for Andhra Pradesh wherein Coastal Andhra Pradesh was deficient by 41% and Rayalaseema by 45%. The good news is that the rains have now intensified over Andhra Pradesh.

According to experts, scattered light rains would occur over Rayalaseema and one or two moderate spells would be a sight over Coastal Andhra Pradesh for the next two days. Post this, the intensity would rise over Rayalaseema and intermittent rain and thundershowers would continue in Andhra Pradesh.

Usually, by June 1, Southwest Monsoon touches upon South Andhra Pradesh and by June 5, more than half of Andhra Pradesh is covered. However, the onset of Monsoon is delayed this time. Kalingapatnam, Visakhapatnam, and Vizianagaram would see light to moderate rains while Kurnool and Anantapur will only see light rains.

Chances of heavy rain are feeble in Andhra Pradesh for the next two to four days. However, isolated pockets of Rayalaseema might witness short spells of intense rain, especially during the afternoon or evening hours.

The day temperature in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh particularly in Ongole, Vellore, Tirupati will be somewhere around 42°C. The humidity level in the region will be high causing some discomfort.

In North Coastal Andhra Pradesh the day temperatures will settle between mid-30s to high 30s. In short, the weather in the entire Andhra Pradesh will be warm and sultry.
