The low pressure area in the eastern parts of the country has intensified into a depression and lies near Jamshedpur in Jharkhand. The weather system is expected to move quickly towards the west and weaken thereafter. Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal north Chhattisgarh and east Madhya Pradesh will receive moderate to heavy rain in the next 24 to 48 hours.
With the movement of the weather system, rain will become scanty over Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. However, it will increase over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Uttar Pradesh. Due to subdued rain, temperatures are expected to rise sharply in these parts. The left over moisture could make daytime uncomfortable amid temperature rise.
Temperatures in Delhi and other parts of northwest plains are also expected to rise due to scanty rain prediction for the coming two days. Temperatures may rise by 2 to 4 degrees other than east Rajasthan, north Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Uttar Pradesh. A cyclonic circulation in this area will continue to bring light to moderate spells thus arresting the mercury rise.
