The intensity of rain has marginally decreased in North Konkan and Goa including Mumbai, as the region has observed only light to moderate rains during the last 24 hours. On the other hand, Monsoon is still active over South Konkan and Goa and has given a few good spells of rain. Similarly, the region of Vidarbha received a few good spells of rain, while moderate showers were observed in Nashik, Pune, Satara, Kolhapur, and Sangli. On the other hand, dry weather conditions prevailed in Malegaon, Jalgaon, and parts of Marathwada.

In the last 24 hours, from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Mahabaleshwar has recorded 100 mm of rainfall, followed by Matheran and Ratnagiri 53 mm each, Chandrapur 49 mm, Vengurla 35 mm and Harnai 31 mm.

According to Skymet Weather, the intensity of rain is expected to decrease further over the interior parts of Maharashtra, and only scattered rains are expected in parts of Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha. Meanwhile, moderate showers with one or two heavy spells may continue to lash South Konkan and Goa.

After 24 to 48 hours, rains will taper in North Konkan and Goa as well and places like Thane, Dahanu, Palghar and Mumbai will witness light rains only.

Further, between July 14 and 19, we expect the weather in most parts of interior Maharashtra to become dry. During this period, a significant decrease in rainfall activity over Konkan and Goa would also be observed.
