After a rather dry and warm start to October, rains came as a relief forMumbaikersmid-month. But theserains seem to have a slightly different planwith no stopping in the days to come.
Light rains are going on over Mumbaiand suburbs for the last many days now. Even more, multiple suburban areas have been receiving few intense spells of rain for short durations.
We expect these rain activities to increase in intensity overMumbaiand suburbs today and tomorrow. A few intense spells are also likely at one or two places.
After October 24, the rain activities will reduce considerably, and weather will become almost clear with isolated light rains over the city. The temperatures will also start increasing.
Another spell of rain is expected over the city around October 27. During that time, we do not expect any heavy rains to lash the city. Only some light drizzle with one or two short spells of rain are likely.
This October is turning out to be one of the rainiest October in recent times for Mumbai. Otherwise usually during the month of October weather becomes dry as Monsoon withdraws from the city. Whenever a system develops over Arabian Sea it usually moves Northwestwards, but it seldom recurves towards the Maharashtra coast. However, this time the Low Pressure Area has given ample rains over the city.
