Hyderabad and many parts of Telangana have been witnessing on and off rains ever since the beginning of October, paving for pleasant weather conditions. These rain activities were also accompanied with intense lightning strikes as well.
Hyderabad has recorded moderate rains with some intense thundershowers to the tune of 22 mm in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday. This was followed by Khammam 23 mm, Hanamkonda 8 mm, and Ramagundam 5 mm.
These rains can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation over North Interior Karnataka and adjoining areas. Moreover, the system is likely to persist for some more days. Besides this, a trough is also likely to form from Gangetic West Bengal to Coastal Andhra Pradesh after the next 48 hours, which would further enhance the rains.
As a result, moderate rains and thundershowers, with some heavy spells are likely to lash Hyderabad and many parts of Telangana till next week or at least next 4-5 days. However, as reiterated, these showers would occur mostly during the late afternoon hours or evening, following the formation of convective clouds due to increase in heat and available moisture in atmosphere.
With this, afternoon would be warm and humid, but evening would be pleasant. Also, intense lightning strikes cannot be ruled out during these spells.
Gradually, these rains will convert into Northeast Monsoon, which usually sets in during by the third week of October. To be precise, weather would not go dry over Telangana in the coming days.
