Intense rain likely in Udaipur, Kota, Jalore, Barmer, Sirohi, Tonk, Pali and Bhilwara today

Rain in Rajasthan

In the wake of Cyclone Vayu, during the last 24 hours, southern districts of Rajasthan such asJalore, Barmer, Sirohi,Udaipur and Dungarpurwitnessed heavy to extremely heavy rains. Extremely heavy rainfall was recorded in Chittorgarh at 190 mm. According to the rainfall data available with Skymet, Udaipur recorded a whopping 140 mm of rain in the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Tuesday. During the same period, Kota also received 51 mm of rain.

Today also we expect rain and thundershower activities to continue with high intensity. Light to moderate rains with few heavy spells are likely in Jalore,Barmer, Sirohi, Udaipur, Dungarpur,Banswara, Pali,Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Kota, Bundi,Tonkand Ajmer. Meanwhile, the remaining parts of the northern and western parts of the state will observe isolated rain and thundershower activities with strong winds.

By tomorrow, the intensity of these weather activities will decrease significantly. However,southeastern districts of Rajasthanmay still continue to witness rain and thundershowers till June 21. Thereafter, the weather conditions inRajasthanare likely to become dry.

At present, temperatures in most parts ofRajasthanhave subsided particularly in places like Kota, Jalore,Sirohiand Udaipur. The day temperature here has dropped by almost 3-4 degrees Celsius leading to pleasant weather conditions in the state.

After the clearance of the wet weather conditions in the next 24 -48 hours, the temperatures in the region will start rising once again, leading to the comeback of heat wave after several days.
