During the last 24 hours, fairly widespread rain and thundershowers occurred in North and East Madhya Pradesh as well as Chhattisgarh. These rains were a result of a Trough that was extending from East Madhya Pradesh to the southern peninsula. Moreover, due to an Anti-Cyclone over West Central Bay of Bengal, southeasterly humid winds were feeding moisture. The moisture feed was also available from the Arabian Sea.
As these systems are expected to persist for some more time, rain and thundershowers may continue in many parts of Chhattisgarh until March 14. Meanwhile, scattered showers are likely in East Madhya Pradesh until tomorrow. East Vidarbha also stands a chance to observe patchy rains until the next two to three days.
These weather activities may reduce gradually in Madhya Pradesh, however, Chhattisgarh might continue to get good rain for the next few days. The intensity of rain will peak on March 13. And isolated intense spells associated with strong winds and thundershowers as well as lightning strikes cannot be ruled.
In a nutshell, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha may get to see on and off rain and thundershower activities until the weekend.
