Kerala has been receiving pre monsoon rain and thunder showers since last many days. As on April 14 Kerala is rain surplus by 33%. Foreign activities have increased over Karnataka and Tamil Nadu since last two days. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have also recorded intense pre monsoon activities during last 24 to 48 hours.
A trough/wind discontinuity is persisting over south peninsula since last few days. A cyclonic circulation was also seen over Comorin area, leading to rain and thundershowers. A trough is extending from Madhya Maharashtra to south Tamil Nadu across interior Karnataka. Moderate rain with few heavy spells is expected to continue over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka and Rayalaseema for another 48 hours. Scattered rain may continue over costal Andhra Pradesh and North interior Karnataka as well as isolated pockets of Telangana during next 24 hours.
These pre monsoon Showers may subside after April 16 and may remain confined to Kerala and parts of interior Tamil Nadu. Day and night temperatures have dropped over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and South interior Karnataka during last 24 hours leading to much needed relief from hot weather conditions.
