The state of Uttarakhand has seen some intense rains and in fact, even during the last 24 hours, Dehradun did record some moderate showers to the tune of 42 mm.
Rains in Uttarakhand can be seen due to the remnant of the system lying over extreme northern parts of Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Uttar Pradesh in the medium levels, which is shifting the trough line north of its normal position.
As far as Uttarakhand is concerned, the state lies in very close proximity to the foothills, i.e. trough's current position. The trough is expected to remain there for the next four to five days.
Thus, rainfall activities will be more intense today and tomorrow. Thereafter, slightly ease out but we can expect some scattered rains to continue. Between today and tomorrow, we can expect some heavy showers over the state of Uttarakhand.
