The state of Maharashtra has seen godo showers particularly the Vidarbha region wherein heavy to very heavy rains have been seen over many parts with Gondia recording 131 mm rains, Nagpur 128 mm, Wardha 68 mm.
These rains have been seen due to the depression, which has now weakened into a low Pressure area. The peripherals extending up to Vidarbha, resulting in intense rainfall over the Vidarbha region. All parts of Vidarbha right from Chandrapur up to Nagpur saw heavy rains.
Due to yesterday's spell, the surplus in Vidarbha has increased from 21% to 28%. The figure rose further today to 31%. Now, by tomorrow, rains will be light as the system will move away. The next spell may be seen around September 19 as another system will form in Bay around 17th taking a couple of days to move in.
