After drenching Mumbai with its arrival, the southwest monsoon rains are expected to remain subdued over Mumbai during the next two to three days. The rain will again pick up in intensity and similar chaos that gripped the city in the past few days could make a comeback after this period.

The city received 78.5 mm of rain on Monday while another 70 mm of rain is expected on Tuesday. Rain will subdue on Wednesday as only 45 mm of rain is expected.

After arriving in the commercial capital, monsoon brought 65 mm of rain on 7th of June. 45 mm of rain was recorded on 8th of June while 9th June witnessed 181.1 mm of rain.

Meanwhile, in the northwest, the national capital New Delhi will get some reprieve from the sweltering heat as a period of rain is expected to prevail till 24th of June. Temperature in Delhi will drop and remain in thirties during the period.

The approach and prevalence of moist winds from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal will keep the heat away from Delhi. But increase in humidity levels especially on the days when rain will not occur could bring on muggy conditions in Delhi.

The rest of the areas in northwest would also see pre-monsoon showers during the period and the weather would be pleasant and comfortable. A Western Disturbance is expected in the region during the next 24 hours. Rain will occur at many places over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during the next two to three days.
