Parts of Rajasthan is already reeling under heatwave conditions, particularly north and west parts. With no relief predicted as of now, the temperatures are further expected to scale up in the next 2 days.
Districts like Barmer, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Churu and Sriganganagar are witnessing soaring mercury where the maximums are already settling at a scorching 45-degree mark. In fact, in the next two to three days, a few isolated pockets of the desert state may even witness the mercury levels soaring up even more. This may even touch the 46°C or 47°C.
Severe heatwave condition is likely to persist as the west-central regions of the state are likely to remain dry for the next 2-3 days. Thereafter, winds are likely to change direction and the westerlies will be replaced by the southwesterly winds, blowing from the Arabian Sea.

Due to these relatively less humid winds, the temperatures will drop by 2-3 degrees over these areas. However, due to the increase in humidity levels, dust storms accompanied by isolated pre-Monsoon activities are once again expected to show up.
Hence, for a couple of days, no relief is anticipated over Rajasthan.
