After a dry spell of around a week, rains have once again commenced over Bengaluru. The state capital has been witnessing rains since last 2-3 days, with both intensity and spread increasing on Thursday.

The electronic city recorded fairly widespread rain and thundershowers to the tune of 48 mm in span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday. In fact, many districts of Karnataka have also received heavy rains.

According to Skymet Weather, these rains can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation that has been persisting over Interior Tamil Nadu and adjoining Kerala. Besides this, a trough has also been extending from this system to North Interior Karnataka across South Interior Karnataka.

With the system persisting, we expect moderate rains with few intense showers to continue for another 48 hours over Bengaluru. Thereafter, as the system become insignificant, rain intensity will reduce over Bengaluru. By October 23, almost dry weather would return to city and nearby areas.

These ongoing rains have led pleasant weather conditions, the one Bengaluru is famous for. For the next few days, maximum temperatures would settle in the range of 28°C-30°C, while nights and mornings will be extremely pleasant 19°C-20°C.
