The intensity of Monsoon rain has reduced in Madhya Pradesh and during the last 24 hours, only light to moderate showers with few heavy spells were recorded. Significant relief was seen from extremely heavy rain and thundershower activities.

Talking about the rainfall data, Hoshangabad has recorded 162 mm of rain, followed by Narsinghpur 79 mm, Raisen 47 mm, Indore 36 mm and Bhopal 10 mm in a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday.

According to Skymet Weather, the axis of Monsoon Trough has further moved northwards and is over North Madhya Pradesh and adjoining area. Moreover, the Low Pressure has shifted over North Madhya Pradesh and adjoining South Uttar Pradesh.

The combined effect of these systems would bring more good rains, however with reduced intensity now for the state, particularly for the northern districts. Places like Gwalior, Datia, Morena, Shivpuri, Satna, and Sagar stand a chance to see moderate rains with one or two heavy spells.

Meanwhile, the southern districts such as Mandla, Hoshangabad, Betul, Seoni, Khandwa, and Khargone would observe light to moderate rain and thundershowers.

All these activities would continue over the state until September 14. Thereafter, rains would taper over the region.

As of now, we do not expect torrential rains or flooding rains to return anytime soon and the flood-like situation would definitely ease out.
