Indore had been battered by heavy Monsoon rains during last few days and particularly during the last 24 hours, Indore has witnessed a 72 mm rainfall in last 24 hours. Moreover, in the last 5 days, Indore has already recorded good spells of 203 mm.
The reason for this continuous rainfall can be attributed to two back to back low-pressure areas which affected Madhya Pradesh.
Due to these weather systems, almost entire state of Madhya Pradesh received heavy to extremely heavy rainfall during last 4 to 5 days.
Additionally, the monthly average rainfall of Indore for July is 302.4 mm and till Tuesday, July 12, Indore has already observed 230 mm rains. But now, this low-pressure area is weakening and shifting towards north. Henceforth, rain will reduce after 24 hours. However, the weather will not go completely dry and possibility of on and off rains will also continue.
As per Skymet Weather, central region of the country especially Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are also likely to receive above normal rainfall. Hence it can be said that Indore will continue to get decent rainfall throughout the Monsoon season.
