Madhya Pradesh has been witnessing active Monsoon conditions since the second week of August. The southeastern parts have received good rains and the other parts of the state also continued with light intensity showers. The mercury levels have also reduced over the state leading to pleasant weather conditions.

In the past day also Monsoon remained active over southwestern parts of the state. In the last 24 hours, from 8.30 am on Monday Khandwa witnessed light rain of 11 mm and Guna 1 mm. Places such as Indore and Guna also recorded traces of rain. These rains can be attributed to the Low Pressure which was persisting over Madhya Pradesh yesterday has now shifted towards Gujarat.
The axis of Monsoon trough is also moving Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhatisgarh and Odisha towards East Central Bay of Bengal. These two combined weather systems have given rains over the state. It is anticipated that the axis of Monsoon trough is likely to move towards North once again and the Low Pressure over Gujarat region is also likely to become insignificant.

However, the rains will continue at many places over the state. The intensity of rains will be light to moderate. Mainly the western and central regions of the state will witness rains meanwhile, scattered light showers will continue over the remaining regions. Pleasant weather will persist over the region and the temperatures will remain normal.
