In Central India, a Cyclonic Circulation which was over North and adjoining Rajasthan is sloping southwards. It is now lying over South Rajasthan and adjoining Gujarat region. A trough from this system is extending across Madhya Pradesh towards Vidarbha in the lower levels.
Yesterday, the people of North Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha witnessed dust storm and thunderstorm activities, while the weather still remained very hot.
Currently, there stands a chance of light dust storm activity and rain in parts of Central Madhya Pradesh mainly in Ujjain, Indore, Bhopal, Guna and Hoshangabad. Parts of Gujarat like Rajkot and Deesa might witness development of thunderclouds. Marginal drop in day temperature is expected in most parts of Madhya Pradesh, North Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada because of strong westerlies affecting these places.
Also, a trough is seen running from South Coastal Gujarat to Arabian Sea. Thus, the coastal stations of Maharashtra and adjoining Gujarat might witness partly cloudy to cloudy sky with chances of very light rain or thunderstorm activities. Some parts of Konkan and Goa including Mumbai along with Veraval in extreme south of Gujarat would be a witness to these activities.
According to meteorologists at Skymet, the day temperatures might remain above 40 degrees over most parts of Vidarbha. After a gap of 24-48 hours, the temperatures would soar even higher because of dry and hot northwesterlies.
