During the last 24 hours, several parts of Madhya Pradesh have been witnessing a good amount of rainfall. Thus, places such as Indore, Bhopal, Sagar, Guna, Gwalior and Seoni have been receiving light to moderate Monsoon rains. Hence, the residents of Madhya Pradesh have been experiencing comfortable weather conditions since last few days.
In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Gwalior 57.1 mm, Indore 17 mm, Bhopal 16 mm, Seoni 11 mm, Sagar 5 mm, Khandwa 3 mm and Satna 1.3 mm.
These weather conditions can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is seen prevailing over central parts of Madhya Pradesh. Further, this weather system is likely to move westwards. Therefore, light to moderate Monsoon rains is expected to occur at many places over southern and western parts of the state.
Moreover, Southwest Madhya Pradesh may receive heavy rains at isolated places during the next 24 to 36 hours.

Thus, several districts such as Bhopal, Guna, Indore, Sagar, Dhar, Betul, Ujjain, Hoshangabad, Khargone and Seoni will continue to receive good Monsoon rain and thundershowers.
However, the intensity of rains over eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh will decrease significantly in next few days. Though scattered light Monsoon showers cannot be ruled out.

As on August 26, the sub divisional rainfall distribution statistics shows that East Madhya Pradesh and West Madhya Pradesh are rain deficient regions by 25% and 20%, respectively.
