India vs South Africa: Rain predicted during Johannesburg ODI

December 4, 2013 5:01 PM |

After winning six One-Day International tournaments on a trot, India is all set to take on South Africa in the three-match ODI series beginning Thursday, December 5. The first match will be a day-night game and is scheduled to be played at the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

Fans are certainly looking up to this battle between the top two teams of the world but the weather forecast seems to dampen the spirit. Weather models at Skymet suggest chances of rain and thunder showers in Johannesburg tomorrow. Light showers are expected towards the afternoon which will continue till the evening in patches.

This may result in the match being interrupted at times and not ending up being a 50-over game. Though, it may bear a result, playing in these conditions will not be easy as the outfield will get wet and slow down. Bowlers will find it difficult to grip the wet ball and fielding will certainly not be that sharp.

So let’s pray for clear skies tomorrow and hope that we see good cricket, without any hindrances.
