India is all set to celebrate its 70th Independence Day with great pomp and show. The tri-colour will be hoisted across the country as proud Indians will wake up early in the morning and be a part of the celebratory events. While the national capital will be the most decked up, other metro cities will also not be left far behind.
Rain or sunshine, what’s it gonna be? Let’s take a look at the weather conditions across the major cities of India:
Delhi: Delhi will be the brightest of all the metropolitan cities as the entire city will be gearing up for the 70th Independence Day. Honorable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will be hoisting the tri colour flag in the Red Fort in the presence of Chief Guest Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
As far as the weather conditions are concerned, rain gods will stay far away from the national capital. Weather will remain warm and dry. The maximum temperature will hover around 34 degrees, with the minimum settling at around 27 degrees.
Mumbai: If Delhi will gear up for some special Independence Day celebrations, the commercial capital of India, Mumbai will also not be far behind. Right from flag hoisting to exhibitions and old delicacies, Mumbai will have it all.

The Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai, Colaba which was built in the year 1903 and has been a part of India’s freedom struggle. So much so that it hosted a special dinner for the elite class on the eve of Independence Day. 70 years later, Chef Amit Chowdhury is likely to create a hand-crafted menu specially for Independence Day recreating the same magic of the Indpendence Day eve.
Weather wise, light rains may make an appearance over the city of Mumbai on some occasions tomorrow. The maximum temperature will settle at around 30.8 degrees with minimum hovering around 24.5 degrees.
Kolkata: The City of Joy, Kolkata is most likely to receive some light to moderate showers on Independence Day as compared to other metro cities. As far as the celebratory events are concerned, the Bengal Government is expected to ditch the circular provided by the HRD ministry to celebrate Independence Day and carry on with their usual celebratory methods.
Here, the temperatures will settle around 32 degrees which is normal for the city during this time of the year. Minimums will settle at 26 degrees which is close to the normal levels.
Chennai: Chennai has received intelligence alert from agencies which has resulted in the tightening of security across the capital city of Tamil Nadu. Fort St. George where the celebratory event of flag hoisting is held has been given 5 tier security.
Weather wise, the city of Chennai is expected to remain warm and humid on Independence Day. However, the possibility of scattered light showers over some areas cannot be ruled out over these areas.
Bengaluru: Bengaluru is also expected to celebrate Independence with great pomp and show. Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Grounds will once again glimmer with 11000 people and the Chief Minister hoisting the tri colour. IAF helicopters will once again shower flower petals during this period.
Weather conditions in Bengaluru are expected to remain pleasant with rains making an appearance over the state capital. As for temperatures, maximum will settle around 26 degrees while minimum will hover around 22 degrees.
Hyderabad: The Golconda Fort in Hyderabad will witness the Independence Day celebrations once again. This time the celebrations are expected to be all the grander as compared to the other years.
As far as weather conditions are concerned, both maximum and minimum will remain in the 20s with the former being in the late 20s and the latter in the early.
