On and off rains are going on over hilly states of India particularly over Uttarakhand. Even parts of Himachal Pradesh have received moderate showers during last 24 hours. And the northern most state of India, Jammu & Kashmir observed light rain.

But some increase in rain activity is expected over the region. At present, a Western Disturbance is seen over northern parts of Pakistan. This system is expected to move in an easterly direction soon. And this movement of weather system will affect the hilly states of West Himalayas with some moderate rains.

Skymet Weather expects that the rain intensity will increase over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the next 24 hours.

Few good spells are expected to lash over the entire hilly region of North India up till 48 hours. Though good rains are expected but heavy to extremely heavy showers are ruled out as the intensity over Western Disturbance is not very strong.

But these light rains are capable of inducing flash floods and landslides in many districts of the states. Major hindrance weather wise is not expected.
