Incessant rains may trigger flood like situation in many parts of Uttar Pradesh

As predicted by Skymet Weather, the intensity of rain has significantly increased over the state of Uttar Pradesh. And during the last 24 hours, many parts of the state recorded fairly widespread rain and thundershower activities. Now, the rains will intensify even more and we expect incessant rains to trigger flood like situation in many parts of Uttar Pradesh.

The reason for these rains can be attributed to the feeble Low- Pressure Area over the central parts of Uttar Pradesh and adjoining area. In fact, as a result of this system, rains have remained unstoppable throughout the night and at present also many parts are experiencing heavy showers.

Now, as the system is expected to persist for some more time, rains will intensify even more and continue with moderate to heavy in intensity. Moreover, the chances of one or two very heavy spells of rain cannot be ruled out.

These activities would be mostly witnessed over the western and the central parts of the state for the next few days. Gradually, the spread and cover of rains will extend up to other parts of the state as well.

Further, we expect, moderate to heavy rains to keep lashing the state for another week. This is because the Monsoon Trough will shift towards the foothills of the Himalayas, most probably around July 13 or 14, thus leading to a significant increase in the weather activities along the foothills of the Himalayas. Consequently, the foothills of  Uttar Pradesh will get to see heavy to very heavy rains, right from Pilibhit, Bahraich, Najibabad, Rampur, Lakhimpur Kheri up to Balrampur, Gonda, Sitapur, and Barabanki.

As the Monsoon Trough comes closer to the Himalayas, even the parts of Nepal will experience heavy to very heavy showers. And whenever heavy rains lash Nepal, the water flows down to the foothills of Uttar Pradesh as well, thus leading to the flood-like situation here. Hence, the local people are advised to take due precautions and Skymet will keep alerting you about the possible weather activities.
