Pre-Monsoon activities have picked up pace across the northwestern plains, with rain and hailstorm lashing several parts of the Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan on Thursday. Besides this, squally winds were also blowing across the region.
As a result, standing wheat crop has suffered major damage. Worst affected place was the Fatehabad district of Haryana, wherein high velocity winds and hail has flattened the crop, which was ready to be harvested.
