Heaven finally opened its door and poured over parts of North India thereby eradicating the almost month long dry spell that has been heating up the weather condition across the region. Somewhat the similar scene was observed in Punjab as well where rains have been showing up from last 2 to 3 days.

The rainy spells were nothing less than a gift of god for people in Punjab who were sweltering under rising mercury levels. With these rains, the temperatures that were settling in upper and mid-30’s over the parts of the state from last many days also plunged several notches.

These untimely rains and hailstorm created a chaotic situation amongst the farmers who invest his blood and sweat on the crop field.

Here are a few pics that details the crop damage due to rain and hailstorm:

Most of the wheat crops, tomato crops, sunflower crops and other vegetable crops spread over thousands of acre of fields wore the brunt of the hailstorm activity that took place yesterday.
