During the month of December, Gujarat and its adjoining areas never witness rain and thundershower activity. The weather of Gujarat usually remains comfortable with a clear and sunny sky.
However, this December the temperatures across the entire region of Gujarat has seen some fluctuations. The minimum temperature, in particular, has settled below normal on a number of occasions. The reason being the wind pattern and the conditions that are governed by the weather activity in the northern plains. The winds from the northern hills travel and affect Gujarat and its adjoining areas by pulling down the minimums.
As expected the night temperature has dropped at many places. The Kutch region, in particular, has recorded single-digit minimum temperature which is not very common. For instance, Nalia today morning recorded 4.6 degree Celsius as the minimum temperature which is the lowest in the state. Bhuj also saw the night temperature drop to 9 degree Celsius.
Even the interior parts like the state capital Gandhinagar recorded 11.6 degree Celsius as the minimum which is a drop of about 3 degrees Celsius from yesterday.
Disa in Saurashtra recorded 7.8 degrees Celsius, Kandla 9 degrees Celsius and Vallabh Vidyanagar recorded 10.9 degrees Celsius as the minimum. Amreli also saw the night temperature settle at an uncomfortable 9.2 degrees Celsius.
However, the day will be comfortable with clear and sunny sky. The maximum temperature in the state will settle around the mid-20s but they will still remain below normal. This condition will prevail in the region for the next 48 hours.
