After remaining dry for the last four to five days, light rains finally blessed the southern states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. However, these pre-Monsoon spells were mainly confined to the coastal stations of Andhra Pradesh and southern districts of Telangana. On the other hand, Rayalaseema and northern parts of Telangana continued to remain dry.
Within the span of 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Wednesday, Medak recorded 7 mm of rains, Mahbubnagar 5 mm, Tuni 0.3 mm and Hyderabad recorded some traces of rains.
However, despite these rains and thundershower activities, the weather of Telangana remained hot. According to weathermen, since these weather activities occur during the later part of the day, they do not have any impact on the day maximums. The temperatures across most parts of Telangana settled between 41-44 degrees Celsius.

Further, the trough is expected to extend from West Bengal to Tamil Nadu across Telangana. Moreover, humid winds from the Bay of Bengal would also incur moisture over the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh.

Thus, we expect few spells of light or moderate rains to continue over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh in stations like Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, and Tuni. In addition to this, isolated thundershowers or thunderstorms are also possible over parts of Telangana and Rayalaseema that includes Hyderabad and Rentachintala in the next 24 hours.
Thereafter, Telangana and Rayalaseema would become dry. However, on and off rains may continue over the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh.
The temperatures of Telangana and parts of Rayalaseema would remain mostly above the 40-degree mark. Meanwhile, coastal Andhra Pradesh may experience humid and sultry weather.
