Hyderabad, Vijayawada braces for more rains

Pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers have been showing up in parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana from past 3 days. Hyderabad too has been witnessing rains from a couple of days.

These afternoon showers were of short duration. Due to these rainy spells, the maximums that were settling near 40°C in Hyderabad came down a few degrees. Though it has resulted in dropping the temperatures marginally but still the weather across most of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is yet warm.

The reason for these pre-Monsoon rains as per Skymet Weather can be associated with a trough which was running from East Bihar to Telangana. In the wake of this, districts like Anantapur and Mahbubnagar witnessed rains. The capital city Hyderabad too observed a few rainy spells.

However, now the trough is seen running from North Telangana to Maldives across Rayalaseema. Hence, Telangana coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema are expected to continue to receiving on and off rain and thundershowers. These rain and thundershowers are further expected to continue mostly during late afternoon or evening hours for next 48 hours.

The intensity of these showers though as compared with Telangana will be more over coastal Andhra Pradesh. However, a few districts of Telangana including Hyderabad will receive short spells of thundershower or thunderstorms.

Further, no significant decrease in temperatures is expected but the weather will remain somewhat comfortable as the heatwave conditions which were prevailing during the month of April will not make a comeback.
