Hyderabad to see light rains; intensity to increase further

August 14, 2017 3:23 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Since last few days, Hyderabad has been witnessing scattered light Monsoon showers. Several other districts of Telangana including Ramagundam, Hanamkonda, Medak and Nizamabad have also been observing light Monsoon showers. Thus, comfortable but humid weather conditions are likely to persist over Telangana including Hyderabad. Also, good rains are anticipated over the state capital anytime soon.

In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Hanamkonda and Nizamabad recorded 33 mm of rainfall, Ramagundam 5 mm and Hyderabad 3.5 mm.

These weather conditions can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is seen lying over South Andhra Pradesh and adjoining areas. Also, a trough is seen extending along the East Coast. Due to these weather systems, scattered light showers along with few moderate spells are possible to occur over Hyderabad and adjoining areas during the next two to three days.

Thereafter, between August 16 and 18, the intensity of these rainfall activities are expected to increase over most parts of Telangana.
