A fresh spell of good Monsoon rains is all set to lash several parts of Telangana including its capital city of Hyderabad.
All thanks to the low pressure area which had developed in west-central Bay of Bengal and is now prevailing over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Besides this, an associated cyclonic circulation is also prevailing in mid tropospheric levels. The system is tilting southwards from height.
In wake of this, Hyderabad has already recorded 14 mm in span of 24 hours from 8:30 on Tuesday. Further, we expect rain activity to intensify and cover several parts of Telangana as the system gradually moves westwards during the next 24 hours. Skymet Weather predicts that mainly moderate showers are likely over Hyderabad and remaining parts of the state.
Rain and thundershowers has been evading Hyderabad for past one week. However, development of the Monsoon system has marked the return of rains over the city. So far, the city has recorded 34 mm of rain against the normal average rainfall of 132.9 mm.
At present, the cumulative rainfall deficiency for Telangana stands at 3%. However, with the fresh spell of rains approaching, we expect the state to cover up the deficiency and march towards normal or surplus rains.
