Isolated places in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana witnessed light to moderate rain and thundershower activities during the last 24 hours. Tuni in Coastal Andhra Pradesh recorded 13.5 mm of rain.
In fact, due to clouding and subsequent rainfall activity, day temperatures over most parts of these states dropped significantly, leading to abatement of heat wave conditions.
At present, a low-pressure area is seen over Southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining parts of East central Arabian Sea. Along with this an offshore trough is also extending from Maharashtra Coast to Kerala Coast. Due to these weather systems, southwesterly moist winds are blowing over most parts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Due to the prevalence of moist winds, spell of light rain and thundershower activities will be occurring over scattered places of both these states during the next 24 hours. Thereafter, weather conditions will improve.
Places like Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, East Godavari, West Godavari, Ramagundam, Hyderabad, Khammam, Mahbubnagar will experience these weather activities.
Day temperatures would be increasing till June 13. From June 14 onwards, rain and thundershower activities will be affecting over many parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. These rains are very useful as temperature pattern will be decreasing and fresh crop seeding will start.
