Sunny mornings and cool weather will soon become a distant dream in Delhi as hot, humid and uncomfortable days make way into the city. In the absence of any western disturbance and change of winds, humidity is set to increase in Delhi, resulting in a gradual increase in day temperatures.
In past few days, Delhi has experienced hot days with mercury touching 40-degree mark on few occasions. Yesterday too, the maximum temperature settled at 39.5°C, 2 degrees above normal. The trend of rising temperatures is likely to continue for another 3-4 days.
Change of winds from westerly winds into easterly winds is also likely to bring dust storm in the city starting tomorrow onwards.
However, brief respite is expected towards month’s end. According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, a western disturbance is expected to affect the weather in Delhi from 28th April onwards, bringing the much-required relief from the scorching summer heat. Thundershowers too are likely during that time.
Pleasant days During First half of April
Delhiites were enjoying relatively cool weather, brought about by frequent spells of rain during the first half of April. In the first fortnight of April month, the national capital had witnessed prolonged and widespread rain.
